Our Giving Back partnership with Sequoia Parks Conservancy<\/a> brings our pledge to the ancient forests of Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. With the support of our clients, we can support those who care for the world\u2019s oldest living trees, the giant sequoias.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why Sequoia Parks Conservancy?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The giant sequoias have stood for thousands of years, a moving reminder that we are part of a bigger world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Long before LEX Reception began, our founder was inspired by his high school biology teacher, Vaughn Folkman. As a park ranger at Sequoia National Park, Vaughn demonstrated the impact caring for nature can have. He inspired our Giving Back mission, which has resulted in the planting of more than 2 million trees and support for reforestation and conservancy across the globe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our latest partnership is dedicated to the memory of Vaughn Folkman, lifelong advocate for Sequoia National Park and author of Where Is the Tree You Drive Through<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About Sequoia Parks Conservancy<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Since 1940, Sequoia Parks Conservancy has helped Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks<\/a> by funding projects that preserve forests, protect wildlife, improve visitor experiences, and keep these beautiful places available for future generations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The giant sequoias, found only in California’s Sierra Nevada, are among the largest and oldest living things on Earth. Some were already ancient before the Roman Empire, surviving changing climates and generations of people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Old-growth sequoias store carbon and shelter countless species. Protecting them means future generations will experience these forests too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wildfires have always shaped forests, but in recent years, they have grown more intense, creating new challenges for the land, wildlife, and nearby communities. In 2021, the KNP Complex Fire burned through Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, damaging forests, habitats, and landmarks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sequoia Parks Conservancy backs long-term recovery. Their work restores ecosystems, rebuilds habitats, and strengthens the durability that keeps these parks healthy for the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Caring for forests is not always about stopping change. Sometimes, it means helping nature recover.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wildlife conservation and protecting biodiversity<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A healthy forest is home to more than trees. Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks provide habitat for many species. Conservation protects these habitats for all who depend on them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sequoia Parks Conservancy protects wildlife, restores habitats, helps endangered species recover, and supports the diversity of the Sierra Nevada ecosystem. By protecting these habitats now, we help ensure that coming generations can enjoy these landscapes and wildlife.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Making nature accessible for all<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Conservation is also about people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The parks are larger than the state of Rhode Island and have over 1,000 miles of trails for exploring and learning. Support from Sequoia Parks Conservancy sustains these trails, improves accessibility, restores park facilities, and helps millions of visitors experience nature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through guided wildlife experiences, conservation lessons, and outdoor learning, they teach people about the natural world and why conservation matters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
